In 1768 Durrant successfully contested the expensive borough of St. Ives on the interest of his Norfolk neighbour Lord Buckinghamshire. In Parliament all his reported votes were with Opposition, though Robinson’s second survey on the royal marriage bill, March 1772, lists him as ‘pro, present’. There is no record of his having spoken in the House. He did not stand again in 1774.
Durrant died 6 Sept. 1790.
