biography text

Hamilton was elected for Lancashire without a contest. He voted for Wilkes’s expulsion, 3 Feb. 1769, but against the seating of Luttrell, 15 Apr. 1769, against Government on the Middlesex election, on 9 Jan. 1770, and against the Spanish convention, 13 Feb. 1771. He does not appear to have spoken in the House, and the circumstances of his leaving Parliament are not known.

He died 16 Feb. 1819.
