Sir Charles Holte came from an old Warwickshire family who first represented the county in 1661. He was returned in 1774 after a contest, and voted with Opposition. His attendance was not very good, and he appears in only five out of the 14 division lists for this Parliament. The English Chronicle wrote about him in 1780:
The bad state of health under which Sir Charles had long laboured, incapacitating him for the arduous duty of inspecting, with necessary vigilance and attention, the various interests of an opulent, respectable, and commercial county, he intimated, towards the conclusion of the last Parliament a positive determination to resign.
There is no record of his having spoken in the House.
He died 13 Mar. 1782.
