Lade inherited a considerable fortune from his great-uncle, an eminent brewer in Southwark.1London Mag. 1740, p. 405. He stood for Camelford with Samuel Martin against two candidates supported by the Duke of Bedford, and paid £1,500 for election expenses.2Add. 32995, ff. 63, 104. In Dupplin’s list of 1754 he was classed as a Government supporter. He died 21 Apr. 1759 after a hunting accident.
