Returned for Lincoln on the family interest in an uncontested election, he adhered to the Opposition and voted with them during the Regency crisis. There is no record of his having spoken in the House.
He died 17 June 1832. The Gentleman’s Magazine (1832, ii. 77) wrote in his obituary notice: ‘Lord Scarbrough, throughout his life, was well known and appreciated in the sporting circles, and his racing stud was formerly considered one of the most valuable in the kingdom.’
