James Macarmick was mayor of Truro 1757 and 1766, and William Macarmick1In OR his name appears as MacCormick, but in Reg. of St. Mary, Truro (Devon Cornw. Rec. Soc.), ii. 534, in Boase Courtney, Bibl. Cornub. i. 332, and in the Army Lists as Macarmick. was returned in 1784 in a hotly contested election on the Boscawen interest, presumably reinforced by his own, as a follower of Pitt. He voted with the Government on Richmond’s fortifications plan, 27 Feb. 1786. His appointment to the governorship of Cape Breton vacated his seat.

Macarmick died 20 Aug. 1815.
