biography text
Richard Turbervill came of an old Glamorgan family, but one that never aspired to represent either shire or borough; and he entered Parliament merely as a stop-gap to preserve the county for the Mansel interest when George Venables Vernon found himself unable to vacate his seat at Bramber. Nothing is known of Turbervill’s political conduct.
He died 25 Jan. 1771.
