Dundas was returned for his grandfather’s borough at the first general election after his coming of age. He had joined Brooks’s Club on 7 May 1816. Like his father he signed the circular letter offering the leadership of opposition in the House to Tierney and voted silently with opposition in both sessions of the 1818 Parliament. He was, however, the only member of his family to support Burdett’s motion for parliamentary reform, 1 July 1819, and was more active than his relations in opposing the repressive legislation of December. He died 6 May 1873.
