biography text

On the succession of his half-brother to the peerage as Baron Somers, Cocks was brought in by him for his vacated seat: but only until the dissolution, when he resumed his military career, proceeding to Sicily. There is no known vote or speech, but he doubtless followed his patron in supporting the Grenville ministry. He died 1 Apr. 1857.
