Crosbie came in on the Newcastle interest. He doubtless supported Pitt, but no vote or speech is known. In 1791 he was listed hostile to the repeal of the Test Act in Scotland. In 1793 he was serving abroad. He died 16 June 1798. The Duke of York informed the King that Crosbie ‘made away with himself at Portsmouth ... He had appeared very low and unwell for some time, and was undoubtedly under the influence of mental derangement.’1PCC 469 Walpole; J. W. Fortescue, Hist. Brit. Army, iv. 210, 295; Geo. III.
