John Willoughby, only son of the 6th (CP 7th)3 For revisions to the numbering of the Barons Willoughby of Parham used by the Complete Peerage, see the appendix in volume 1 of this work. Baron, inherited the title as a minor and died near the beginning of December 1677 at ‘about eight years of age’, reportedly ‘of convulsions’.4 Verney ms mic. M636/31, J. to Sir R. Verney, 6 Dec. 1677. Upon his death the barony passed to his nearest male kin, his uncle, also named John Willoughby, 8th (CP 9th) Baron Willoughby of Parham.
