Pedlyng, a butcher by trade, was sued in the court of common pleas in the Michaelmas term of 1423 by John Exton*, the former customer of Chichester, for a debt of £2.1 CP40/651, rots. 207d, 483; 652, rot. 14d. More seriously, in the year of his only known Parliament, a plea of trespass was pending against him in the King’s bench, at the suit of the master of Trinity College, Arundel.2 KB27/662, rot. 32d.
