Brasier came of an important Leicester family, and was perhaps the nephew of Roger Humberston. He was much involved in affairs relating to the parliamentary representation of the borough during this period, being either chosen as an MP or acting as a witness at every recorded election between 1407 and 1437.3C219/10/4, 5, 12/4, 13/1, 3, 14/1, 2, 4, 5, 15/1.

Probably a permanent resident of Leicester, Brasier certainly owned property there as well as at nearby Humberston (shared with Roger Flore of Oakham) and further afield at Brooksby, nine miles north of the town. He was still alive in 1443.4CP25(1)126/73/10, 74/9; Wyggeston Hosp. Recs. nos. 593, 1022.
