John Pulley remains unidentified, but he is taken to be the ‘John Pulley, senior’ who was buried in St. Leonard’s church, Bridgnorth, on 28 Jan. 1583, and whose will shows him to have been a draper with property in Bewdley, Worcestershire, as well as at Bridgnorth, and a relation by marriage of the Lutwich family of Lutwyche Hall, six miles west of the borough. The testator’s widow and executrix died soon after her husband, and in April 1584 the administration of his remaining goods was granted to his brother, Richard Pulley.3Shrewsbury pub. lib. transcript of St. Leonard’s reg.; PCC 23 Rowe; Vis.
