biography text
What little is known about Booth comes from the records of his lawsuits. He may have been descended from the Cheshire Booths. Only his mother’s first name, Elizabeth, is known. She married as her second husband one Henry Bradbridge, through whom Booth acquired property in London and Sussex. Denne was near enough to Horsham for him to be returned once to Parliament for the borough.1C2 Eliz. L2/22; C2 Eliz. B10/5; Suss. Rec. Soc. xix. 125; xxi. 178, 190, 194; Suss. Arch.
