| Much Wenlock | [] |
J.p. Mdx. by 1603.
Brett’s wife inherited property from her mother, including lands at Cransley in Northamptonshire bought from Sir Thomas Cecil in 1595, and it was to her connexion with the Owens of Condover that he appears to have owed his return for Much Wenlock. In 1595 he was concerned in a conveyance of the council house at Shrewsbury,1Vis. London (Harl. Soc. i), 47; Bridges, Northants. ii. 88; C142/383/99; 209/55; Mdx. County Recs. ed. He died 28 Feb. 1620 in London, administration being granted to his widow. Under a settlement made in 1616 his lands passed to his son after marriage portions had been provided for his four daughters.2C142/383/99; PCC admons. 1620.
