At Wareham in 1586 Lambert was presumably the nominee of the 3rd Marquess of Winchester, his name having been inserted in a blank return. His sister Jane was Winchester’s mistress. He left no mark on the surviving records of the House of Commons. He made his will at Winchester 12 Dec. 1603, adding a codicil 2 Mar. 1604. It was proved on 19 Nov. 1604 by the executor, his son-in-law John Bowles. Lambert requested that he should be buried close to his mother and father in Winchester cathedral.1Vis. Hants (Harl.
