The Pigotts of Doddershall were descended from Thomas, the third son of Thomas Pigott of Whaddon, a serjeant-at-law under Henry VIII. Pigott himself was overshadowed by his father, a j.p. and sheriff in 1593-4, and only one certain reference to him in connexion with local government has been found, his signing an agreement on purveyance for the county in April 1593. He must have been brought into Parliament for Aylesbury by his neighbours, the Pakingtons. No record has been found of any parliamentary activity and the date of his death is unknown.1Vis. Beds.
