Viser was a haberdasher. In 1560 he was paid 20s. for going to London ‘with the supplication’, presumably about the confirmation of the borough charter. He went again six years later. In July 1568 he was licensed to turn part of his house into a tavern. A list of householders provisionally dated 1604 is headed by Joan Vizer (sic), widow.
