According to the 2nd Earl of Oxford,
Lady Elizabeth Rich had run out her fortune and retired to Wales, and there married Francis Edwardes, who was a younger son of a gentleman; he was a purser of a ship; got £60 per ann.1N. & Q. (ser. 8), i. 326.
On the death intestate in 1721 of her nephew, the 7th Earl of Warwick, she became heir-at-law to his estates, including considerable property in Kensington. A year later Edwardes was returned as a Tory for Haverfordwest.
He died 15 Dec. 1725.
