Nathaniel Gould was returned at a by-election for Wareham where he was a stranger, consistently supporting the Administration. He was a member of Samuel Holden’s dissenting deputies committee and one of the sub-committee of that body who approached Walpole in November 1732 and December 1734 to discuss the repeal of the Test and Corporation Acts.1N. C. Hunt, Two Early Political Associations, 134, 145, 169. He lost his seat in 1734, did not stand again and died 30 Mar. 1738.
