biography text
Grove came of an old Shropshire family settled in Alveley by 1562.1Salop Arch. Soc. Trans. (ser. 4), iv. pp. x-xi. Returned for Bewdley in 1715 on Lord Herbert of Chirbury’s interest, he voted with the Administration except on the peerage bill, on which he abstained. He next stood in 1734, when he successfully contested Bridgnorth on the Whitmore interest, voting for the Spanish convention in 1739 but abstaining on the place bill in 1740. He did not stand in 1741, dying in April 1742.
