Thomas Hayward was brought in for Ludgershall in 1741 by his uncle, Colonel John Selwyn. Voting with the Administration in all recorded divisions, he was classed as an Old Whig in 1746. He did not stand in 1747 but was again brought in by his cousin George Augustus Selwyn in 1754. He died 14 Mar. 1781.
