Succeeding to the Docminique estates and electoral interest at Gatton, Humphrey voted against the Administration in 1746 and was listed as Opposition in 1747. In 1749 the 2nd Lord Egmont considered him a possible supporter, adding that he was ‘a very low odd man’. He died 18 Apr. 1751, aged 64.1Manning & Bray, Surr. ii. 237, 248.
