John Morice was returned by his cousin, Sir Nicholas Morice, because, unlike Humphry Morice, who sat for Newport in the previous Parliament, he held Tory principles.2Sir Nich. Morice to Humphry Morice, 16 Mar. 1722, Morice mss in Bank of England. He died 13 Feb. 1735.
