Selwyn, who was returned for Whitchurch on the interest of his father, voted with the Administration in every recorded division, except on the Hanoverians in 1746, when he was absent. On 24 Jan. 1738 he seconded the Address;1HMC Egmont Diary, ii. 462. on 8 Mar. 1739 he spoke in favour of the Spanish convention;2Coxe, Walpole, iii. 517. and on 29 Jan. 1740 he spoke against the place bill. He died shortly before his father, 27 June 1751.
