The Hills of Court of Hill had a common ancestor with the Hills of Hawkestone temp. Henry VI, and were settled at Court of Hill since the 16th century.1Burke, Landed Gentry, 5th ed. (1871). Mrs. Philip Lybbe Powys wrote in 1771, after a visit to Court of Hill:2Passages from the Diary of Mrs. P. L. Powys, ed. Climenson, 128.

The circumstances of Hill’s election for Leominster are unascertained. There is no record of any vote or speech of his in the House. He died 23 Aug. 1776.
