Osborn served with distinction in the seven years’ war, and on 6 Dec. 1758 was thanked by the House of Commons. Subsequently he was granted a pension of £540 per annum for life. He was nominated for Bedfordshire (and supplied with a qualification) by the Duke of Bedford1Bedford mss 38, ff. 66, 82, 108. and returned unopposed. There is no record of his having spoken or voted in the House. He did not stand in 1761, Bedford’s son, Lord Tavistock, being then of age.
He died 4 Feb. 1771.
