biography text
The death of William Wynn causing a vacancy at Caernarvon, Newcastle desired to know the thoughts of Sir John Wynn and those ‘of the rest of our friends’ on it. John Wynn replied on 6 June recommending a relation of his own, Robert Wynne, who had been at Westminster with Newcastle—‘a steady, zealous and true friend to his Majesty and his interest for forty years in the county’. John Wynn promised to be answerable for his political conduct, and Robert Wynne was returned unopposed.1Add. 32735, ff. 345, 388-90.
He died March 1762.
