Yorke owed his seat in Parliament to his uncle Lord Brownlow, who secured his return for Grantham on the united Brownlow and Rutland interest. As he was not of age when the first vacancy arose, his father kept the seat warm for him. He was expected to support Pitt’s administration, but no speech or vote of his is known. He headed the poll in 1796, but declined in 1802. He died 12 Dec. 1834.1PRO 30/8/112, f. 170.
