CARMINOWE, Nicholas (c.1519-69), of Respryn, Cornw.

Carminowe was a country gentleman who owned tin mines near Bodmin, the borough for which he was returned to Elizabeth’s first Parliament. In 1564 he was ‘considered meet to be a justice’ in Cornwall, but apparently he never attained the commission. He was buried at Lanhydrock in 1569.Vivian, Vis. Cornw. 74-5, 457-8; J.
