Younge was a merchant engaged in the Mediterranean trade, and owned property in Surrey and Northamptonshire. He was a regular Government supporter, and in 1754 received £1,000 from secret service money towards his expenses at Steyning.Namier, Structure, 199. His only recorded vote was against the plate tax, 17 Mar. 1756.Add. 32863, f. 332.

He died 30 Jan. 1759 ‘in the seventy first year of his age’;M.I. in St. Edmund’s church, Hardingstone, Northants. and left the bulk of his property to William Bouverie, son of Jacob, 1st Viscount Folkestone, by Younge’s niece, Mary, daughter of Bartholomew Clarke.
