Willes was appointed solicitor-general by Chatham in July 1766, and a seat was found for him at Leominster.See PRICE, Chase. In November 1767 he canvassed Taunton against the general election; but in January 1768, when his office was required for Dunning, he was promoted to the bench.

He died 14 Jan. 1787.
