FIENNES, William (c. 1583-1662)

b. c. 1583, 1st s. of Richard Fiennes^†, 7th Bar. Saye and Sele, and Constance, da. of Sir William Kingsmill.The death of Richard Fiennes, 7th Baron Saye and Sele, has previously been dated at ‘shortly before 6 Feb. 1612/3’ (CP xi. 485). There is evidence, however, that the 7th Baron was dead by 11 Oct. 1612. The 8th Baron, under that title, was party to a statute staple on 21 Nov. 1612. See Lansd. 161, f. 320; LC 4/32/240.
