Bailiff, Southampton Mich. 1405–6, 1408 – 10, 1411 – 12; mayor 1414 – 15, 1420–1; But not in 1421–2, as given in the earlier biography, for Peter James* was mayor that year: Winchester Coll. muns. 17835; E159/199, recorda Mich. rot. 19. This means that Mascall was not mayor when returned to Parl. for the first time, as previously stated: The Commons 1386–1421, iii. 699. alderman 1415 – 19, 1422 – 23.
