b. c. 1394, s. and h. of (Sir) William Osmundlaw† (d.1419/20) of Langrigg. m. by Hil. 1421, Joan, wid. of Geoffrey Pygot of Clotherholme (in Ripon), Yorks., In Hil. term 1421 he and Joan named an attorney to contest a plea of dower with Ralph Pygot of Clotherholme, then a minor and probably her son: CP40/640, att. rot. 2. The couple were still pursuing their claim in 1432, but there is no evidence that our MP came to hold in her right any of the Pygot lands: CP40/684, rot. 197d. at least 1s.
