BERDEVELD, Thomas, of East Grinstead, Suss.

Although very little is recorded about Berdeveld, he was evidently a local man who was occasionally placed in positions of trust. For example, he was made a feoffee of property in East Grinstead and Lingfield in 1416, probably on behalf of John Alfray*, and in 1426 he acted likewise in a conveyance of land at West Hoathly (some four miles from his home) made by a London skinner.
