Roger may have been related to John Douk, who was active as reeve of Kingston Lacy in east Dorset in the first decade of the century. Dorset Hist. Centre, Bankes mss, D/BLL/CG/3/6, 9. Yet he himself was established as a burgess of Weymouth by 1414, when as one of the executors of Henry Palmer he was party to the sale of property in ‘Le Franchise Street’ to John Penne* of Portland. C146/1415. Although this transaction strongly suggests that he was a resident in the borough he later represented in Parliament (with Penne as his fellow MP), nothing more has been discovered about him.
