Enough is known of Garnett to show that he was a resident of the borough he represented. In a list of Stafford’s bailiffs, admittedly not a wholly reliable one, he is said to have held the office of bailiff in 1459-60. His status in the town no doubt accounts for his election to Parliament 12 years earlier, but no more is known of him. J.W. Bradley, Staffs. 204; C219/15/4.
