As well as New Romney and Dover, Lowys also served the Port of Hythe. In 1442 he was employed by the jurats there to ensure that their new bailiff, William Burys*, was admitted according to custom, and received, along with James Greenford*, the steward of Dover castle, a gift of wine valued at 21d.
