Few details of Maynard’s career have come to light, but it seems that he was a local man. In early 1414 he stood surety for the attendance in the Commons of one of the Calne Members, Robert Roude*, a man who was to be his parliamentary companion in 1427. C219/11/3. It is unlikely that he was the same person as the contemporary yeoman of the catery of Henry VI’s household. CPR, 1429-36, pp. 222, 304.
