biography text

A little more may be added to the earlier biography. The Commons 1386-1421, iii. 794-5.

Among Morys’s properties in Reading was a tenement in the corn market, and in 1432 he made a formal quitclaim to Thomas Clerk II* and his mother Amicia of two buildings in New Street. In this deed he was styled ‘draper’, thus confirming the supposition made in the earlier biography that he made a living from the cloth trade. Berks. RO, Reading deeds R/AT 1/116; WARD2/60/238/2.
