Wynne was returned for the county on the Wynnstay interest during the minority of Sir Watkin Williams Wynn. Thanks to an arrangement whereby the latter came in for Beaumaris on coming of age, Wynne retained his seat until the dissolution of 1796, when he gave way to Sir Watkin, who made him deputy steward of the lordship of Bromfield and Yale.
