Edgcumbe was returned for Fowey on the family interest as a Government supporter; voted, however, against Richmond’s fortifications plan, 27 Feb. 1786; but with Pitt during the Regency crisis, 1788-9. According to Mrs. Boscawen, widow of the admiral, he attended the House ‘most assiduously’.
He died 26 Sept. 1839.
