DRAX, Henry (?1693-1755), of Charborough, Dorset, and Ellerton Abbey, Yorks.

Henry Drax inherited electoral influence at Wareham through his wife’s grandfather, Thomas Erle, of Charborough. In 1754 he and his son were opposed at Wareham by the Pitts of Encombe. A double return was made, but, on a compromise arranged by Newcastle, Henry Drax took his seat. He died 24 May 1755.
