DASHWOOD KING, John (1716-93), of Halton, Bucks.

Dashwood King sat at Bishop’s Castle on the interest of his brother-in-law, John Walcot, M.P., and in 1754 was returned after a severe contest. He was listed by Dupplin as a Tory. No vote or speech by him is reported during this Parliament. Before the general election of 1761 Shelburne noted that at Bishop’s Castle the sitting Members were not wanted.Lansdowne mss.Dashwood King did not stand again.

He died 6 Dec. 1793.
