On 26 July 1760 Bristow is included in Newcastle’s list of ‘Persons to be brought into Parliament at the next election’; by 17 Feb. 1761 he is relegated to a concluding note on those for whom places were ‘still wanted’; and by 1 Mar. he has disappeared from the list of ‘Persons to be brought into Parliament’.
