BOSCAWEN, Hon. John (1714-67).

Classed ‘for’, as a follower of Cumberland, in Dupplin’s list of 1754, Boscawen is described as a follower of Bute in Bute’s list of December 1761, and in December 1762 appears in Henry Fox’s list of Members favourable to the peace preliminaries. On 10 Feb. 1764 he voted for the repeal of the Cider Act,Harris’s ‘Debates’. but does not appear in any other division list. Rockingham counted him as ‘pro’ in July 1765, and as ‘Swiss’ (prepared to support every Administration) in November 1766. There is no record of his having spoken in the House.

He died 30 Apr. 1767.
