BOSCAWEN, George (b.1745), of Trevalyn, Denb.

Boscawen regularly supported Administration until 1776. In May of that year he eloped to France with Annabella, wife of Sir Patrick Blake,Diary of John Baker, ed. Yorke, 353. and remained abroad until 1779. On his return he voted with Opposition on the motion on sending Keppel to sea, 3 Mar. 1779, Dunning’s motion, 6 Apr. 1780, and the motion against proroguing Parliament, 24 Apr. 1780. Before the general election of 1780 John Robinson wrote about Truro: ‘It is hoped it will be two friends and not Mr. Boscawen again, and therefore it is canvassed hopeful.’ Boscawen was not put up again. There is no record of his having spoken in the House.
