A’Court was returned for Heytesbury on the Ashe family interest which he later inherited. He supported Administration in all his recorded votes; and was listed for the Government in Dupplin’s list of 1754. In 1753 he was granted a secret service pension of £500 p.a., but ‘seems to have been so indifferent to money that sometimes for two years he did not trouble to draw it’.
He died 6 Sept. 1768.
